Harriet A. Whitesel Van Ginkel, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2013 with her daughter Susan by her side.
Born on February 18, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Ind., Harriet lived in Cincinnati from 1963 through 1993.
She was married to David Van Ginkel of Cincinnati, Ohio from 1933 to 1983.
After raising her six children, Harriet worked as a nurse at the Jewish Hospital and the Board of Health in Cincinnati, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, and at the Harbor House Rehabilitation Center in Hingham, Mass.
Harriet is survived by her sisters Lida N. Smith and Rachel Jordan (Jim), her children Susan Lincoln (Thomas), Jane Van Ginkel (Doug), David Van Ginkel (Shirley), Nancy Miller (Timothy), Laura Dunworth (Kevin) and Catherine Van Ginkel (Paul), and thirteen grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Old Ship Church in Hingham, Mass.
Harriet will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, Ill.
