Hubert Knasel, age 88, of Midland Michigan died Friday morning May 10, 2013 at his home. He was born March 7, 1925 in Covington, Kentucky; son of the late Earl and Camilla (Stuhlreyer) Knasel. Hubert attended schools in Covington, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was a veteran of WWII. After his military obligation, Hubert returned to Cincinnati where he married the former Ruth Dawes. In 1977 he moved to the Houghton Lake area where he enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing. After Ruth's death in 1985, he later married the former Sally (Wing) Tracy. He is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Tom (Kathy) Knasel of Bloomfield Hills MI, Mary Ann (Randy) Gillette of Midland MI, Eileen (Craig) Perrigo of Pensacola FL, Dan (Linda) Knasel of Kalamazoo MI, Jim (Jackie) Knasel of Wheaton IL; stepchildren, Shawn (Valorie) Tracy of St. Louis Park MN, Duffy Tracy of Midland MI, and Erin (Michael) Allen of Wilmington NC; Fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Graven of Park Hills, KY; and brother Earl Knasel of Edgewood KY. In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Rosemond Moeves; and stepson, Brian Tracy. As per his request, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will take place from St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church in Midland MI at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Salvation Army.
