James C. Galosi, age 82, of Montgomery, Ohio, passed away on April 3, 2014. Born in Derry, PA February 2, 1932. Son of Martina and Corrado Galosi. He graduated from Derry High School in 1949 and Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, PA in 1953. Jim majored in chemistry in college. Immediately after college he entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War zone. Jim was honorably discharged in 1955. He continued his education at Pennsylvania State University in the field of Chemical Engineering. At the conclusion of studies, he accepted a position with United States Steel in Duquesne, PA. After various assignments he was promoted to Manager of Process Control. In 1976, Jim was transferred to Cincinnati as a Customer Technical Engineer until retiring in 1994. After retirement he worked as a consultant within the steel industry. Jim and his wife Audrey were married in 1957. They have sons Matthew Galosi and his wife Susan, of Katy, TX, and Martin Galosi and his wife Maria, of Pittsburgh, PA. They have two grandchildren, Sarah and Luke, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Alfred, and a granddaughter, Megan. He is survived by his sister, Frances Carrara, of Lebanon, PA. Jim's hobbies were golfing, fishing, and everything related to yard work at his house. Visitation will be Monday, April 7, at Strawser Funeral Home 9503 Kenwood Rd. Blue Ash, OH 45242 from 4 - 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 8, at St Vincent Ferrer Church 7754 Montgomery Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45236 beginning at 10am with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana (1604 Bissonnet, Houston, TX 77005) in memory of Megan Galosi.
