Jerome M., beloved and cherished husband of the late Doris (Hahn) for 57 years, treasured father of Peggie Ann (the late Charles) King and the late Andrea L. (Robert) Jurczyk; adored grandfather of Kellen Charles King. Also survived by his loving nephew and wife, Paul and Janey Kattelman, and various other relatives. Died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the age of 87 after a brief illness. Jerry was employed at Procter & Gamble as an electrician for 39 years, retiring in 1984. He was an avid bowler, along with his wife, bowling in the same league at Heid's lanes in cheviot for over 45 years. The American Bowling Congress presented Jerry with a gold ring in December, 1989 for a near perfect 299 game, just three months after the birth of his only grandchild Kellen. Jerry played softball for years in the P&G lunchtime league and in St. Bernard on many evenings, culminating in a trip to the World Softball Championship in 1954. Jerry was also an avid golfer, with the highlight of his play being a 174 yd. hole-in-one scored at the local Weatherwax course in August, 1988. Jerry, along with his family, enjoyed boating at Lake Cumberland and traveling. Jerry served in the Army in WWII, training at Fort Lewis in Washington followed by tours in Italy and Germany; he was a lifelong member of the Winton Place Veterans. Funeral services for family and friends to be held Wednesday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home at Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Cincinnati (4360 Cooper Rd., Cinti., 45242) or the ASPCA (424 E. 92nd St., NY, NY 10128) would be much appreciated.
