Louis Groen was a friend, and a mentor. We have known him for many years. We will miss hiim dearly. He was always kind and gracious to our family. We have fond memories sitting on the pool deck drinking ice tea at Ocean Reef Club. He was so generous with his time and money to everyone he met. Roy L. Morehead @Ocean Reef.

Mr Groen was so instramental in who I am today. As owner/operator of McDonald's, he gave me my first job as a 16 year old. He instilled in all of us the can-do attitude and the motto that if you are going to do anything you will do it at an excellent level. He could be tough but he was always fair! His comtributions to the McDonald's family will be forever appreciated. My condolences to his family. (Gary Radziwon)

Lou was 'one-of-a-kind'. While we had only known him these last few years, our time with he and Edna will always be filled with fond memories. Lou was always a gracious host with many a good story to tell. We particularly loved his sense of humor and his appreciation for all that was given him. Our thoughts are with Edna and their extended family.

Mr. Groen was my neighbor growing up on the west side of Cincinnati my entire life. He and my father had a great working relationship and will miss him and his old bull dog walking up and down the driveway back in the days. He has been my mom's neighbor for over 37 years. He will be missed by all! We were blessed to have known such a Cincinnati icon!

Mr. Groen was a very distinguished alumni of North College Hill High School. The Alumni Assn. is very proud to recognize him as one of our own. His accomplishments were many but his legacy was truly the wonderful man he was.

I worked for Mr. Groen at McDonald's while going to college back in the 1970's in fact I was the market "Ronald". He not only was the greatest business man I have ever known but one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. But most of all he was very proud of his family. The world has lost a truly great man.
