Marjorie Hall, age 82 passed away August 30, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Edward "Bud" Wagner, she was born August 16, 1930 to Elizabeth Newstedt Hall and Claire Hall and was the granddaughter of George Newstedt who was a founding partner of Newstedt Loring Andrews, a retail jewelry store that is listed as Cincinnati's oldest established business since 1805. Margie, as she was know by all her friends, obtained a B.A. degree from Smith College in 1952 with a major in economics and a minor in government. She pursued her interest in government with The League of Women Voters of the Cincinnati area. As a board member she chaired locally their national study in land use. She then became a city council member for The Village of Indian Hill in 1988 where she served 2 terms. She also became a partner in Newstedt Loring Andrews where she was active in the operations of the family business. She was a long time manager of the Hyde Park Square store and eventually managed the Kenwood Town Center location. Other volunteer activities included working with the Home Service department of The Red Cross, chairing The Home and Garden Tour of the Smith College Club, serving as a docent for The Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and was a former member of The Junior League of Cincinnati. She was a long time member of The Camargo Club in Indian Hill and was active with The Bridge Center in Cincinnati as she was a proficient bridge player. Her other passions included golf and ballroom dancing. She is survived by her daughters Emily Wagner of Cincinnati, Fran (Mark) Chmelewski of Ellensburg, WA, loving grandchildren Liza and Philip Druck and Stephen Chmelewski. She is also survived by her two brothers Richard T. "Dick" Hall and David N. Hall, both of Cincinnati and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at The Norman Chapel, Spring Grove Cemetary on Wednesday September 5 at 10:00 am.
