Sheldon Eshelby Pogue, 66, passed away December 7, 2012 at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born October 29, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Crawford Pogue, Jr. and Helen Lunken Stevenson. He resided in Hyde Park, Indian Hill, and Mount Adams. Sheldon received his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati in 1976, serving as a Hamilton County Public Defender and later practicing as a criminal and civil trial attorney. He also hosted the 1970's radio show "Up Against the Law" on WEBN. An exceptionally loyal family man and friend, Sheldon will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and ability to foster personal relationships with even the most casual of acquaintances. We will miss his mischievous sense of humor and warm nature. He is survived by his son, Sean Pogue and his daughter, Michelle Plaisance (Daniel), as well as two granddaughters, Abigail and Molly. Sheldon also leaves behind his step-mother, Martha Pogue, his sister, Ceci Sanders (David), three brothers, John C. Pogue III (Tucky), Michael E. Pogue (Janet), Stephen L. Pogue (Kathy), and many beloved step-brothers, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on January 5, 2013 at the Indian Hill Episcopal/Presbyterian Church.
