COTTINGHAM

Thomas A., age 66, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 15, 2013.

Thom was the owner and operator of The Barber Shop of Harrison, located on Sycamore Street, which he opened on January 25, 1971. He was a true old-time barber with a great sense of humor. Thom was the most optimistic, upbeat person you'll ever meet. Customers enjoyed chatting with him while glancing around the shop at all the golf memorabilia given to him through the years.

He was a faithful member of the Addyston Baptist Church, where he operated the sound system which he thoroughly enjoyed. Thom was the Harrison Township Trustee.

He is survived by loving wife, Connie; devoted daughter, Denise (Dan) Bowling; his two pride-and-joy grandsons, Eric and Grant; sister-in-law Shirley (Gary) Barnes; brother-in-law, Barry (Amy) Maynard; Uncle Gib, Aunt Betty, Uncle Tom, Aunt Doris, Aunt Mary, Uncle Ray; nieces & nephews; and a host of loyal clients & friends.

Thom was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (nee Wessel) & Albert Cottingham; and loving wife Rosie (nee Taylor) Cottingham.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 2:30 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 5:30 PM in Brater Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Rev. David Pitman officiating the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Addyston Baptist Church through the funeral home. www.braterfuneralhome.com
