Doris A., 87, died on Wednesday, March 5th. She had a long career with Procter and Gamble as a home economist. Doris was a graduate of Iowa State University, majoring in culinary arts and food services. She thought so highly of the education she received that she has left her estate to the university. A scholarship in her name will be established to award funds to qualified recipients majoring in the study of food services and human nutrition. Doris traveled the world for many decades and was an avid Scottish dancer with a life membership in the Scottish Dance Society. She also was an accomplished international folk dancer. Doris devoted a great deal of time and effort to civic affairs as an active member of the League of Women Voters. In 2009 she was named a Wyoming Citizen of the Year for her work with the Wyoming Senior Citizen's Group, the Wyoming Drama Circle and the Wyoming Women's Club. We, her friends, are all impoverished by her loss. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29th at 1:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati, 536 Linton St., Cincinnati, OH 45219. Donations to charity of donor's choice.
