LEA

Sharon Cook Lea, 70, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Wyoming, OH peacefully joined the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. She was born in Akron, OH to H. Leigh Cook and Edythe Swartz Cook Phillips. Sharon graduated from Suffield High School in Suffield, OH (1961) and Ohio University with a degree in education in 1965. She shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, William F. Lea. The stories and memories of their family life and many friends are legendary. Sharon was an active member of her community, recently serving on the Board of the Episcopal Church Home and the alter guild at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church. Her proudest accomplishment was her family. In addition to Bill, she is survived by three terrific daughters, Jennifer (Brad) Pugh of Greenwood, IN; Heather (Leo) Wimsatt of Roscoe, IL; and Suzanne (Randy) Hoffacker of Beijing, China; the best big brother, Tom (Barbara) Cook of Akron, OH; four beautiful grandchildren, Katie and Ben Pugh, and Isla and KJ Hoffacker; and five exuberant granddogs, Bunker, Kelsey, Tuc, Snickers and Ellie. She leaves a wonderful group of extended family and friends. Sharon would wish each of us to continue the loving spirit, strong faith, warm friendship, steady support and cheerful example by which she lived her life. A visitation will be held at the St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road (at Hwy 42); Louisville, KY on Friday, April 25 from 4 - 7 PM. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 AM at St. Francis in the Fields. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Sharon's memory to the St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road, Harrods Creek, KY 40027.
