Frequent trips to Hawaii with her husband Steve brought them both much joy. She had amazing culinary skills but most importantly she was "The Queen of Entertaining". She served as House Chairman at the Tunxis Club in Tolland, MA. She graduated from the former Hillsdale School, now Seven Hills Day School and received a degree in nutrition from Garland Junior College. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Millard Stevens Bartels, children, Genevieve Sedgwick (David), James Bartels (Maureen), Elizabeth Pelletier (Timothy), grandchildren; Clayton (Kristen), Erica, Ellen, Mitchell and Abbey and her great grandchildren; Addison and Chase. She also leaves her beloved lab, Luke. The family would like to give special thanks to Ashley, Patti, Nancy and the staff from Caring Solutions, Lisa, Peter, Kathy and the staff at Noble Hospice Care and the Tunxis Community, especially Lester, Bob and Laurie. A memorial service will be held at the West Granville Congregational Church, 1580 Main Road, Granville, MA. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M..
