Rita, aged 76, died peacefully on July 22 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born on March 25th 1938 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late William Reilly and Beatrice Draper. Rita grew up in Chicago, IL loving horseback riding and ice skating. She graduated from Evanston High School and then went onto Colby College in Maine. She then finished her degree in English at Barat College in Lake Forest. In the midst of raising her five children she obtained her Master's Degree in Counseling at the University of Cincinnati. She then went to work for the Cincinnati Health Department for eight years. While there she led a social skills program for children at inner city schools. She then wrote a grant and received funds to coordinate the Health Promotion Project for the city. After leaving the Health Department she worked for Metlife Insurance promoting HMO programs to area businesses. Always wanting to have her own business she left Metlife and purchased Bench Advertising Co. which she operated for 10 years until she sold it and retired. Upon retirement Rita and her husband Nash spent half of their year in Naples, FL and the other half in Cincinnati with family. She loved to play golf and would often compete in events at Hyde Park Country Club, where they belonged. In addition she loved tennis and ballroom dancing. Combining these with her love of traveling the world, she danced through life touching the lives of many with her vibrant nature. Rita's bright smile, contagious laughter and gentle, loving way will be missed by all who knew her, She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years Nash McCauley, her sister Adelaide Nizzi, and her loving children Kevin Leytze, Joseph Leytze, Robert Leytze, Andrew Leytze, and Rachel Zimmer as well as her adored step children Ryan McCauley, John McCauley, and Evan McCauley. She will forever be remembered as Nana by her cherished 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on August 4 from 3:00 until the time of service 4:00 at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, 513-853-1035.
