1933 - 2013 Obituary Condolences


Ronald John Messemer, 79, of Fountaintown, IN, passed away February 8, 2013. He was born June 13, 1933, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late John and Anna Louise Potts Messemer. Ronald was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio where he graduated from Withrow High School in 1951. He married Artie Elizabeth Berry, August 14, 1954. Mr. Messemer received a B.A. in history from Seattle Pacific University in 1959, and his Indiana State Teacher's License in secondary education from Butler University in 1962. He served as a history teacher for two years at Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High School. Beginning in the mid-1960's, Mr. Messemer served five years as an assistant professor in the Department of Supervision, School of Technology, Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI). During his tenure at Purdue University, Mr. Messemer received the "Key to the City of Louisville" for his management consulting work throughout the greater Louisville, Kentucky area. Mr. Messemer later served as the industrial relations director for Wallace Expanding Machines, Inc. in Indianapolis and he also served as the corporate training director for Aero Mayflower Transit Company in Indianapolis. In 1978 until his retirement in 1995, Mr. Messemer became owner and president of RJM Associates, which provided management training and development programs to more than eighty companies and organizations throughout the United States. Ronald was a devoted member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Remington, OH. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Artie E. Messemer; son, Dr. Jonathan E. Messemer, wife Dr. Jane; granddaughter, Leah; brother, Roger A. Messemer, wife Cheryl. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baptist International Evangelistic Ministries, P.O. Box 707, Danville, IN 46122-0707.
