Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Reich, 93 years old, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away on March 24, 2013. She is survived by: her daughters, Judith Rosan of New York City, Arlene Effron of Bloomington, and Karen Fox-Vance of San Diego, CA; her granddaughter, Kimberly Kaiman of New York City, and her grandson, Jeffrey Mandell of Chicago; and her great-granddaughter, Amber Cottings of Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Reich is also survived by her sisters, Mary Cohen of Buffalo, N.Y., Barbara Levine of Ann Arbor, MI and Isabelle LaBelle of Albuquerque, NM. After graduating high school in 1936, Mrs. Reich won a scholarship to study violin at the Cincinnati College of Music. She studied with both the late Emil Hiermann, and the late Sigmund Effron, both concertmasters of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Reich graduated from the Cincinnati College of Music, and became concertmaster of the Cincinnati Civic Orchestra. She was a member and held various offices of the Matinee Musicale Club, the Clef Music Club, and the Woman's Music Club of Cincinnati. She was an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music sorority until her 90's. In respect for Mrs. Reich's final wishes, there will be no memorial service. Donations in her memory can be made to either the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University, or the Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center of Ellettsville, IN.
