Robert W. Fredelake, 63, of Westerville, formerly of Cincinnati, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Bob was born April 19, 1949 in Cincinnati. He was a graduate of Elder H.S. in 1967, received his B.S. in Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 until 1973. Bob spent his career in commercial construction. He worked for Dugan & Meyers for 28 years, and served as president of Dugan & Meyers Construction Services in Columbus from 1997 - 2003. He retired from Smoot Construction in 2012 after nine years. Bob was most proud of his work at One State Street in Hartford, CT, the parking garages at Easton, The ChemEd Center in Cincinnati and the Student Union at Ohio University, all representing his expertise in the utilization of construction materials and their application in complex commercial projects. Bob adored his family and had a love for music and gardening. He will be fondly remembered for his singing, kindness and integrity. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Fredelake; and brother, John Mullins. Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan (ne. Mayer), children, Jodie (Nick) Fortine, Heather (Phil) Wesseling, Andrew (Abigail Moeller) Fredelake; grandchildren, Isabelle and Amelia Bettinger; and Josephine and MacIntyre Wesseling; sister, Beverly Stebbins; mother-in-law, Doris Mayer; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Family will receive friends Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. with a prayer a service at 2 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road (at Beecher Road), Gahanna, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna. The Celebrant is Fr. Theodore K. Sill.
