On behalf of my late father, Dr. Charles Foertmeyer, who was friend and medical partner to Eugene's brother Carl, the entire Foertmeyer family sends its condolences. I remember going to a ballgame with my father and Carl and all the while we were walking into the ball park, people were staring at Carl and whispering, "It's the mayor". A fun experience. They looked so much alike.

We lived next door to the Reuhlmanns for a few short months over 50 years ago but my sisters and I couldn't have fonder memories of Mr. (and Mrs.) Reuhlmann. The entire family was so kind and giving towards our family, especially as our Dad was working out of town most of that time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rehulmann family.

The city lost a great man but he and his deceased wife left a legacy that will continue. That is evident in their family and all the charitable works. Our deepest sympathies. From: The Fred J. Cianciolo family

Deepest condolences to the entire Ruehlmann family. I had the pleasure to meet Mr. and Mrs. Reuhlmann in completing a project that was very close to their heart. A perpetual calendar created by Mrs. Reuhlmann for the Helen Steiner Rice Foundation. A wonderful couple that I will remember with affection. May the grace of God be with you all.

Couldn't be a better role model for any young child. He was a favorite Uncle of ours while we grew up. Shine in God's kingdom now, and know of the peace that passes all understanding.

Gene Ruehlmann was a man of great dignity and significant achievement, a pillar of the City and a wonderful example of civic commitment. He served at a time when Cincinnati was beginning to change, and I recall him being once introduced as "the Mayor of all our people".

His passing is a loss not only to his beloved family, but to our entire community. His public service was legendary; but it was the little things he did for the kids that were friends of his kids that I will always remember and treasure, whether it was Cub Scouts or some other activity. He inspired me to pursue my career and I will always be indebted to him for that. He personified excellence in all its aspects. He will be missed. May God bless his family in this time of sadness.

A great loss for his family and the Greater Cincinnati Area. His public service was legendary, but it was the little things he did for the kids that grew up with his kids, Cub Scouts and the like that I will always remember. Thanks, Mr. Ruehlmann, for your friendship and the time you took for all of us. May God bless your family at this time of sadness.
