After the war, she was a flight instructor and aerobatic pilot before getting married, then moving west with her 3 year old son, to teach on the Orme School, a private high school near Mayer, Arizona, before retiring to Idyllwild, California. Her art work includes paintings, drawings, lithographs, etchings, other print-making, ceramics, sculpture, and bronze castings, the official portrait of US Attorney General Janet Reno, and a series of statues including " the WASP Trainee" installed at the US Air Force Academy Honor Court, Colorado Springs, CO, Neilsville, WI,, Midland and Sweetwater, TX, and College Park, MD, and various other projects, and is displayed on a website: www.dotlewis.com <http://www.dotlewis.com/>

As a veteran, her internment is expected to be at one of the National Cemeteries, perhaps Arlington, VA, at which time a memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a tree be planted some worthy spot, or a Rose (donation) be given in her name to the project to build a Tournament of Roses float to honor the WASP in next year's parade: www.WaspFloat.com <http://www.waspfloat.com/> .
