Thomas, Jacqueline - Asheville
Jacqueline MacVeagh Thomas Asheville - "The Last "Writes" of Jacqueline MacVeagh Thomas", 1924-2016, of Asheville, NC (formerly of West Chester, PA) "Nearing the end of life's road, I tend to reflect on the events I've experienced along the way. Whether good or bad, happy or sad, they have added substance to my life. My brother, Wayne, and I got off to a good start by having wonderful parents, Wayne and Ruth MacVeagh, of Coatesville, Pa. We spent a lot of time participating in activities in the Presbyterian church. Many life-long friends were made in Sunday School and the choir. After graduating from Coatesville High School, I attended West Chester State Teachers College, briefly interrupted by a time in the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. After completing my college years, I taught for 30 years, two of them in Occupied Germany, where I met my husband, Bruno, a German civilian. We met on an elevator, and life has been up and down ever since! Our marriage produced three daughters, Heidi Terrels (Lawrence), Ruth Del Vecchio (John), and Kristi Whitely (Greg Bryant) . They are all productive and caring women and a blessing to their mother. Heidi gave me a grandson, Raymond Novino, Jr. (Jessica Hutter). After retiring, Bruno and I moved to North Carolina, where we enjoyed a number of years together until he died in 1997. I've spent my waning years at Givens Estates in Asheville, NC, writing little stories and hanging out with my new friends. It has been a busy life, and now I'm looking forward to singing and dancing with my friends in Heaven. Start the music! (Exit, smiling)" Peacefully, on April 24, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 21, 2016, at 2:00PM in the chapel at Givens Estates, 2360 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803. In lieu of cards or flowers, please consider a donation to the Givens Estates Resident Assistance Fund or the charity of your choice.
