Jones, Donna - Asheville  
Donna Jones Asheville - Donna Louise Kuykendall Jones, 49, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of Garland William and the late Barbara Riddle Kuykendall. Donna attended Erwin High School and loved taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband, Alex Jones; children, Angela Kuykendall and William Warren; father, Garland (Marlene) Kuykendall; siblings, Tina Ray, Garland Kuykendall II, Teresa Watts, Jeanine Pace, Garland Kuykendall III and Carmen Solaice; 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, which would have been her 50th Birthday, at 4:00PM in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the chapel service. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, June 27th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler. Justice, James - Brevard  
James Edgar Justice Stanley, NC - James Edgar Justice, 86, formerly of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016. A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Brackenridge and Leona Webb Justice. He was also preceded in death by brothers, William, C. J., Charley, Edward, Ray, and Dean Justice, and sister, Sara Plemmons. Mr. Justice was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brevard where he had served as a Deacon, eighth grade Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. He had been a Gideon for many years. Mr. Justice had been a custom home builder in Transylvania County for many years. He loved woodworking and he was instrumental in helping rebuild the Spring Creek Community Center in Madison County. He loved being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Plemmons Justice; sons, Garry Justice (Stan Schneider) of Charlotte, NC, and Frank Justice (Rita) of Lowell, NC; daughter, Teena Phillimeano (Butch) of Willow Springs, NC; sister, Dortha Smith of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, James, Joshua, and Jacob Justice, Julianna and Caroline Phillimeano. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Brevard. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brevard Building Fund. Kanupp, Boyce - Arden  
Boyce R. Kanupp Hendersonville - Boyce Ray Kanupp, 78, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Laurels of Hendersonville. Boyce was born in Buncombe County to the late Archie Hampton Kanupp and Carrie Melton Kanupp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Ray Kanupp and his four brothers, Archie Jr., Don, Gene, and Doug. Boyce was a member of Sweeten Creek Freewill Baptist Church and had retired from Cranston Print works. He is survived by his three sons, Danny Kanupp and his wife, Charlene, Michael Kanupp and his wife, Kathy and Jeff Kanupp and his wife, Stephanie and four grandchildren, Kenneth Meeks, Marshall Kanupp, Mack Kanupp and Katlyn Kanupp. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Stroup officiating. Kinser, Catherine - Asheville  
Catherine Kinser Asheville - Catherine Elizabeth Williams Kinser, 84, of Asheville, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at StoneCreek Health and Rehab Center. A native of Valdese, NC, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Bessie Long Williams. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Scott Kinser. Mrs. Kinser was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Asheville, where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher. She taught home economics and was a member of the Garden Club of Asheville. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving are her daughter, Kay Kinser; son, David W. Kinser; and grandchildren, Hunter A. Kinser, Lauren A. Kinser, and Cameron A. Kinser. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Asheville, with the Revs. David Blackmon and Leah Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Stone Creek Rehab and Arbor Terrace, and also to Four Seasons Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 5 Oak St., Asheville, NC 28801. Kosma Jr., Alexander "Alex" - Biltmore Forest  
Alexander "Alex" Kosma Asheville - Alexander (Alex) Kosma passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 28th, 2016 in Asheville, North Carolina at the age of 76. He battled cancer since September 2015. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan, daughters Ashlyn, Alexia, Katie, and younger brother Gary. Alex was preceded in death by his third daughter Stacia. Alex was born on October 29th, 1939 in Richmond, Virginia, then spent his youth in Concord, North Carolina. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Political Science. One of his favorite pastimes was discussing the current state of affairs and trying to convince his friends to think democratically. Alex believed in promoting absolute equality and justice for all races and genders. A stronghold in supporting the community, Alex served on the boards of Pack Place, UNCA, the Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC, and was a longtime donor to the Educational Foundation of UNC-Chapel Hill. Alex believed the way to a better future is through education. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday July 6th, 11 am at Central United Methodist Church in Asheville. Dr. Michael Brown of Marble Collegiate Church will speak at the ceremony. Alex's family would like to thank their kind and supportive friends as well as the exquisite caretakers at CarePartners' John Keever Solace Center.
