Clifford Daniel Knupp
Old Fort - Clifford Daniel Knupp, age 86, of 286 Hebron Hill Dr., in Old Fort, NCm went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 11, 2013 at John F. Keever Solace Center with his family at his bedside.
He was born October 29, 1926 to Fred and Cora Jolly Knupp. Mr. Knupp served in the United States Army
and Army Air Corp. He worked at Old Fort Finishing Plant for 19 ½ years and worked at Schenk Job Corp. in Brevard, NC for 5 years. He then retired from Knupp Construction Co. He was a member of Friends of Library Club. He was a member of Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church where he served as church Treasurer for over 40 years. Mr. Knupp also volunteered with the Prison Ministry. He lived his life loving his Lord.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son, Wesley Knupp; three brothers, Alfred, Lester and David Knupp; and five sisters, Ruth Bean, Mabel Hemphill, Irene Effler, Geneva Bean and Arcie Knupp.
Surviving Mr. Knupp are his wife, of 65 years, Rebecca Bailey Knupp; three children, Elizabeth Riley and husband, Aubrey, of Boone, NC, Martha Pinner and husband, Michael, of Uncoi, TN and David Knupp and wife, Robin, of Asheville, NC; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Knupp of Glen Alpine, NC; four grandchildren, Chris Riley and wife, Jenny, of Walnut Creek, CA, Jennifer Cockman and husband, John, of Boone, NC, Erin Guy and husband, Jarret, of Glen Alpine, NC and Alex Knupp of Asheville, NC; five great-grandchildren, Arwen and Lorien Cockman, Wesley and Wyatt Guy, and Boone Riley; one sister, Rachel Simmerson of Lexington, NC; one sister-in-law, Hilda Knupp of Old Fort, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 5 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church in Old Fort, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 5 PM at the church with Revs. Todd R. Hinson and Michael Pinner officiating. Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC with Military Honors.
