Atlanta, GA - Ginger Lerner passed away April 8, 2013 from complications of pneumonia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Lerner of Raleigh and their children Jonathan and Christopher, her son, Dean Lerner of Chicago and her daughter and son-in-law Dana and John Sparks of Atlanta and their son Austin.
Now in heaven with her beloved husband, Paul M. Lerner, MD, Ginger enjoyed life to its fullest and was always ready for fun and adventure. She graduated from Lee Edwards, Vanderbilt and received a Masters in Social Work from Boston University. In Boston, she met Paul and they had the type of marriage after which fairy tales are modeled. Ginger was an author, miniaturist, mahjongh player and knitter. In 2002, Ginger moved to Atlanta and opened a knitting shop. Ginger will be remembered for her love, kindness, generosity and tremendous sense of fun in her life.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue with Rabbi Batsheva Meiri officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside cemetery.
