James Cain

James D. Cain

Asheville - James David Cain of 125 Pine St. died Monday, January 14, 2013. Born March 14, 1921 in Greenwood, SC he was a son of David and Lillie Rogers Cain. Both parents; his sisters, Ruth C. Price, Emma Cain, and brother, Charles Rogers Cain preceded him in death. He was a resident of Asheville for 67 years.

Mr. Cain was a graduate of Stephens-Lee High School. He was an Army and Air Force Veteran having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He was formerly employed with the Chrysler Corp.-Plymouth Division; a member of the NAACP, VFW Post 44, Skyview Golf Assoc., Ambassador Club and the Elks.

Surviving are his sister, Rosa C. Jenkins of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Patricia Donnelly of Burnsville and Janet Johnson (Isaac) of Stockbridge, GA; grandchildren, Chaisson, Sierra and Kendra; nieces, Saundra Price, Vanessa Brown, and Priscilla Blackwell; nephew, David Jenkins; other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Charles R. Mosley will officiate, burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery.
