Jimmie Setser



FRANKLIN - Jimmie Ruth Whitman Setser, 76, of Franklin, NC passed away quietly in her sleep surrounded by her family Friday, February 22, 2013. Born in Macon County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Wilson Whitman and Mary Ledbetter Whitman. She was married to Lt. Colonel Fredrick "Bo" Setser for 56 years. She was a Registered Nurse; an army wife, vice president of her high school Beta Club, a member of FTA, FFA, Officer's Wives Club, German American Club and Red Cross. She was a member of Liberty Methodist Church in Notasulga, AL. She was an excellent painter and liked gardening.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Setser is survived by three daughters, Dierdre Greer Setser of Newnan, GA, Fredrika J. Setser of Lawrenceville, GA and Kennetha A. McConnell and husband, Robert, of Woodstock, GA; one sister, Linda Carroll of Tuskegee, AL; and one granddaughter, Brianna McConnell.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Whitman.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25th at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. David Duncan and Rev. Vic Greene officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Church Cemetery.
