ASHEVILLE - Nancy G. Callahan, 80, of Asheville, died Thursday, February 7, peacefully at Solace Hospice Center surrounded by family. She was a loving wife, mother, a doting grandmother and a friend to many. Prior to moving to Asheville, NC, she lived in Medford Lakes, NJ, Avon by the Sea, NJ and Hummelstown, Pa.
She was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Il and graduated from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA. Early in her career, she worked as a stewardess for national airlines, as a substitute teacher and later served in various positions for John Wannamaker Department stores.
She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Richard D. Callahan. Surviving are her two daughters, Kathleen Callahan and Margaret Bravacos and her husband, Christopher; five grandchildren, Maggie and Callie Toner, and Katherine, Michael, and Annie Bravacos.
