ASHEVILLE - Shelby "Jean" Shipman, 74, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012.

A Native of Hendersonville, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Pressley.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Alan (Marcia) Shipman, and Jeffrey Wayne Shipman all of Asheville; brother, Carl (Martha) Painter of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, J.J. Shipman of Asheville, Charles Wayne Shipman of Asheville, Toni Mari Shipman, Brittany Jean Shipman, and Angela Pennell.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Roof Garden at Battery Park Apartments at 1 Battle Square in Asheville.
