William Eden Obituary
"BILL" EDEN
Waynesville - William "Bill" Eden, age 78, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Mission Hospital.
Born in St. Clair County, Illinois, he resided in Florida, but spent many happy days at his home in Waynesville. He was the son of the late Harvey Golden and Nyna Dillingham Eden and was also preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Eden Jr. He was a US Marine veteran, attaining the rank of Corporal. Bill was a band director and later principal in the Iowa Public School System, retiring after 22 years. He then moved Hudson, Florida where he became the owner of Discount Glass and Mirror. Bill was a music enthusiast and played in numerous jazz bands from the age of 14.
Bill is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary Elmore Eden; a son and daughter, Joseph Eden (Jackie) and Melissa Osweiler (Jeff), both of New Port Richey, Florida; step-daughter, Mandy Elmore Orzechowski (Ray) of Anderson, South Carolina and stepson, Reverend John C. Elmore, Jr. (Kay) of Greenwood, South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Miles and Ella Osweiler, J.C. and Hannah Elmore and Regan Orzechowski.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Frazier and Reverend John Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broyhill Baptist Children's Home, 111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.

Our family has shared so many great memories since we met Bill and the family over 30 years ago. There was always kindness in his heart to all our family and his smile will always be remembered and soft spoken words of wisdom to all. I will miss making his favorite fish dinner when my Dad caught his favorite "Grunts". We did have a special visit with Bill and Mary this past April and I was able to cook one of his other favorite dishes and we had a great dinner at his special restaurant.
