Fletcher - Betty Cunningham Livingston passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2012 at the age of 70. She was a lifelong residence of Henderson County. She was the daughter of the late James Lee Cunningham and Millie Allison Cunningham.
Betty was a graduate of Fletcher High School and was an active member of Fletcher First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was a retired employee of William & Mary of Fletcher. She was the owner and operator of "Sewing by Betty" and an active member of the Henderson County Crafter's Association.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Livingston, to whom she was lovingly married for 52 years; daughter Karen Gray and husband, John, of Rutherfordton; daughter Carolyn Hyatt and husband, Keary, of Fletcher; and three granddaughters, Kaileigh and Lauren Gray, and Natalie Hyatt. In addition, she is survived by one sister, Vickie Wilder and husband, Francis, of Fletcher; one sister-in-law, Shirley Cunningham, of Fletcher, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Clara Livingston and husband, Guy, and her brother, Roy Cunningham.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, December 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Fletcher First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park. Rev. Roy Waldroup, Rev. Harold McKinnish and Minister Jennifer Wilder will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Fletcher First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Fletcher First Baptist Church's Building Fund.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She filled many lives with blessings and love and she will be greatly missed by the people whose lives she touched.
