Mars Hill - Eula Banks Honeycutt of 2919 Laurel Valley Road passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 peacefully at her residence. She was the wife of the late Albie C. Honeycutt and the daughter of the late James and Lottie Crowder Banks of Mars Hill. She was also preceded in death by sisters; Nell and David Doan of Weaverville, Martha and husband Lewis Metcalf of Mars Hill, Thelma and husband William Taylor Doan of Mars Hill and Mable Senter of Morganton, brother James Walter Banks of Asheville and brother-in-law Harley Honeycutt of Mars Hill. Eula was active in Laurel Valley Baptist Church and in community development and beautification. She was avid in needle crafting and gardening.

A lifelong resident of Madison County she is survived by two daughters; Sue and husband Gene Cantrell of Mars Hill and Judy and husband Bob Edwards of Etowah, and one son A. C. and wife Susie Honeycutt of Mars Hill. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Anthony Cantrell of Burlington, Vernon, Kymberly Cantrell and husband Pete Kaperonis of Alpharetta, GA., Nicholas Honeycutt of Mars Hill and Amanda and husband Tony Cantrell of Asheville and one great grandchild, Gabriel Cantrell, one sister, Cella Honeycutt of Mars Hill, a brother-in-law, George Senter of Morganton and a sister-in-law Arlee Masters Banks of Asheville.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 13th at Laurel Valley Baptist Church where she was a member for the past 84 years. The Reverends Kermit Ball and Bobby Sprinkle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Banks Cemetery adjacent to the church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill.

Flowers are accepted and appreciated or memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Laurel Valley Baptist Church, Attention: Brooks Doan, 132 Locust Grove Road, Weaverville, N. C. 28787.
