RICHMOND, VA. - Henry "Hank" Misbach, born April 27, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri, died November 25 at his daughter's home in Richmond, Virginia after an extended illness. He was the son of Lorenz and Henrietta (Satterlee) Misbach. An excellent teacher and life-long student, he could discuss ancient history, cars, choral singing, and the finer points of Latin grammar with equal enthusiasm and knowledge. With his wife, Oleen (Massie) and daughter, Karen, Henry made the mountains of western North Carolina his home for nearly 40 years. In 2010, he spent a summer with his sister in San Diego, finding a home in the Unitarian church and singing choral music three times a week. That fall, he moved with Oleen to Richmond, Virginia to live nearer to Karen and her partner. He is survived by his sister, Kathryn Misbach Jaques of Chula Vista, Calif., Karen and her partner, Jan Thomas, of Richmond; a step-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. An interment service will be scheduled in May 2013 at Grace Church in the Mountains in Waynesville, North Carolina.
