Fairview - Jack Donald Crisp, 88, of Fairview, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the VA Medical Center.
Born in Buncombe County to the late Gordon and Gertrude Wilson Crisp, he retired as a shop supervisor after 44 years at Dave Steel. He was a proud WW II veteran, having served his country with the US Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater. He was also a long-time member of Groce United Methodist Church.
Jack will be remembered by his family as a warm, loving, and devoted father and Pap-Paw. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Doris Fox Crisp; one daughter, Nancy Donnelly of Fairview; one son, Brian Crisp and his wife, Charon, of Fairview; four grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, and Brooke Crisp and Jacqueline Donnelly and her husband, Kevin Wilson of Asheville; two great grandchildren, Talia and Maya Wilson; and one brother, Edwin Crisp of Asheville.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Cane Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Gerald Davis and Rev. Avery White officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road.
