James B. Luther

Warner Robins, Ga. - James B. Luther, 74, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 14th, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in the GA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Luther was born in Asheville, NC to the late Herman and Velva (Metcalf) Luther. He served and retired with honor for nearly 22 years in the United States Air Force and then worked for the Department of Defense. Mr. Luther was very active with other veterans in the area, especially the Vietnam veterans. He was a longtime member of the Starnes Cove Baptist Church in Asheville, NC and a member of the Middle GA Radio Association.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years Gaylyn Luther of Warner Robins, son John (Judy) Luther of Gastonia, NC, son Kevin (Brenda) Luther of Fairview, NC, daughter Diane (Dieter) Werlich of Bremerhaven, Germany, daughter Patricia (Ken) Franklin of Warner Robins, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, siblings Betty Ann (Tony) Waldrop of Enka Candler, NC, Frank Anthony (Mamie) Luther of Linville, NC and Linda (Jim) Raines of Arden, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #33 at P.O. Box 9381, Warner Robins, GA, 31095, in memory of Mr. Luther.

Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
