Asheville - Mildred Janice Nottingham, 70, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Stone Creek Health and Rehab Center.
A native of Tilbury, Ontario, Canada, Ms. Nottingham worked for 23 years as a Surgical Assistant for Mission Hospitals. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Ms. Nottingham was the daughter of the late Levi Harold and Bessie Mae McCurry Nottingham. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her "adopted children": Larry Wray Mullen, Robert Lee Mullen, and Becky Mullen Mazzi; nephew, Michael Wray Nottingham; niece, Deborah Margaret Nottingham Bishop and husband Tim; sisters-in-law: Pansy Mae Nottingham Hathaway and Judy Sadako Nottingham; seven great-nieces and nephews and six great, great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nathan Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
