Asheville - Lawrence "Larry" Speer Mobley, 68, of Asheville died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his residence.
Larry was born in San Luis Obispo, CA to the late Allen Stillwell and Charlotte S. Bellman Mobley. He was a retired maintenance manager. He loved woodworking, photography and a good laugh. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict and attended St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors are his wife, Jurona Ensor Mobley; his son Steven Mobley (Veronica) of Waterford, CT; his daughters, Deirdre Phillips (Gregory) of Chattanooga, TN., and Siobhan Mobley (Dominic Braun) of Champaign, IL; nine grandchildren, Jon "Jack", Daniel, Heaven, Sage, Mason and Addison Mobley, Logan, Alex, and Claire Phillips; three great grandchildren, Cayden, Kaylee and Sophia Mobley; one sister, Denise Peters of Asheville and one brother.
A Memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church with Father Matthew Leonard officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
Interment will be Tuesday at 12 Noon at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
