Harrisburg, NC - Nancy Rocinda "Cindy" King, 66, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at The Oaks at Town Center Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past two years. Formerly a resident of Asheville, NC she was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. Born June 29, 1945 in Concord, NC, Cindy was the daughter of the late Daulton and Louise King who she selflessly provided care for many years prior to their passing. She is survived by her son, Michael, grandson Gage and granddaughter Natalie all of Harrisburg; sister and brother-in-law Marie and Dennis McMahan of Mars Hill, NC; neices Melanie Potter, Amanda Hammond (husband Tim) all of Charleston, SC; nephew Mickey McMahan (wife Tracy) of Swannanoa, NC; 1 grandneice, 5 grandnephews and many special cousins and friends. Cindy's greatest love was her Lord. She lived her life as a strong Christian and was an example to us all. She deeply loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte since 1975 where she had been a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Christian singing group Heaven's Harmony. A memorial service is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, June 3rd, at the Hickory Grove Latin American Campus at 6050 Hickory Grove Road with the Rev. Henry Ward officiating.
