Oscar Boles. Jr.

Woodfin - Oscar Lee Boles, Jr., 79, of Woodfin, formerly of Marshall, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the John F. Keever Solace Center.

Mr. Boles was born August 14, 1934 in Madison County. Junior was a member of the Oasis Shriners, Scottish Rite, and French Broad Masonic Lodge 292. He was a US Army veteran and served in Korea.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee Boles, Sr., and Nellie Wallin Boles; a sister, Sophia Franklin.

Surviving are his wife, Zelma Brackens Boles; sons, Michael (Sherry) of Weaverville and Johnny (Tammy) of Woodfin; brothers: Hugh (June), Paul (Barbara) and Clyde (Mary); seven grandchildren: Jared, Russell, Matthew, Jeffrey, Brandon, Lee and Samantha; eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Boles Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
