GREER, S.C. - Ricky Duane Singleton, known as "Ric", 50, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 17, at his home in Greer, S.C. He was the son of the late Wiley Carrol Singleton and Josephine Moore Singleton of Candler. He is survived by brothers, JC of Columbus, N.C., Jerry of Candler, Jimmy of Gastonia, and Kenneth of Candler; nieces, Lisa and Sharon; nephews, Jerry Dean, Brian, Danny and Adam. He graduated from Enka High School, excelling in band and drama. Ric pursued a successful career in entertainment, decorative design, event planning, clowning, comedy, family fun and magic. Traveling the world, he has performed at Magic Castle in Hollywood, The Kennedy Center, Ripley's Museum, in Las Vegas, on cruise ships, and many resorts, proms, weddings, childrens parties and festivals. For years Ric was an intrigal part of Freedom Weekend Aloft which is being held this weekend in Simpsonville, S.C. His exuberant personality always thrilled audiances large and small and everywhere he went he made people laugh. He was loved and will be missed by everyone.
A Ric's request there will not be any formal services. A party in Ric's honor and to celebrate his life will be on Tuesday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cazbah on East McBee Ave., Greer, S.C.
The family is assisted by the Wood Mortuary in Greer, S.C.
