Susan N. Young
Asheville - Susan N. Young, 83, of Asheville, died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 1, 2013.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late John Nelson and Julia K. Nelson.
A former executive secretary of the Buncombe County Medical Society, she retired from Asheville Urological Associates.
Surviving are her twin sons, Stanley D. Young of Asheville and Steven A. Young of Greenville, SC' a brother, John D. Nelson and wife Virginia, of Summerville, SC; three grandchildren, Jackson Tyler, Emily Suzanne, and Julia Catherine Young, all of Asheville and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Sara Penland, Loretta Rice, and Jessica Roberts, and all her caring and loving neighbors.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson family plot of Forest Hill Cemetery, Morganton, with the Rev. Gerald Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road and the online register is available at www.grocefuneralhome.com.
