Chicago, Ill. - Twanna Francine Lyles-Carpenter passed away August 1, 2012.

She was born August 8, 1965 to Sandra Lyles Harrison of Asheville. Twanna was a graduate of Asheville High School Class of 1983 and received a degree in accounting from Western College.

Twanna began her successful career as an accountant with Waste Management in Atlanta, Ga. and in 1998 transferred to Chicago, IL. In 2001, she began employment with Grant Thornton and was promoted to payroll supervisor. After several years with Grant Thornton she was employed with BCS Financial until her courageous battle with breast cancer shortened her professional career.

During the span of her professional career Twanna attracted life long friends with her infectious smile and good natured personality. Twanna's passport was stamped so many times it showed she traveled the world at the drop of a hat.

While living in Chicago in 1998 she became the proud mother to Zaria Aliece Lyles. In 2006, she met the love of her life Mershon Carpenter, Sr. and they united as one in 2008. To that union she gained two sons, Mershon, Jr. and LiShon to make her family complete.

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Mershon, Carpenter, Sr.; daughter, Zaria Lyles; sons, Mershon, Jr. and LiShon Carpenter; mother, Sandra Harrison; sisters, Rachel, Audrey, Leslie, and Jackie; grandmother, Dorothy Lyles; mother-in-law, Mary Carpenter; grandmother-in-law, Harriet Ford; aunts, Carolyn Foster of Washington, DC, Cynthia Gash of Covington, GA, and Wendy Lyles of Virginia Beach, VA.; uncles, Roy Lee Lyles of Wilmington, NC and Ricky Lyles of Fort Washington, MD; several cousins; other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be 12 noon Wednesday, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing and visitation will be one hour before the service.

Ray & Allen Funeral Service is assisting the Lyles-Carpenter family.
