Weaverville - Edna M. McIntosh, 90, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Judson and Julia Anderson Metcalf. Mrs. McIntosh is also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank, one sister, Margaret Metcalf, 2 brothers, Gaither and John Metcalf. Edna was orphaned at the young age and was raised by her uncle and aunt, Willard and Myrtle Anderson. She was a charter member of Beech Glen Baptist Church and was known for her strong work ethic and considered work as fun.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Eva McIntosh of Weaverville, Shirley McIntosh of Black Mountain and Jane Davis and her husband Carroll of Weaverville; two grandsons of whom she was very proud, loved and adored, Steven Davis and his wife Asheley of Mars Hill and Stuart Davis of Weaverville. One great grandchild, Sara Marie Davis who was the light of her life, two nieces, Marie Anders and Irene Whitt, and a very special friend and neighbor, Iris English

The funeral service will be held 7:00pm, Saturday, March 22, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. Officiating will be Reverend Stanley Peek, Reverend Dr. Troy Rogers and Reverend Dr. Gordon Benton. Entombment will be held in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Sunday, 3:00PM March 23, 2014. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:30 - 7:00pm prior to the service.

A special thank you, to her in-home care givers Ruby Stanton, Melanie Gaddy and Glenda Lunsford, her doctor Nettie White and the staff at Madison Health and Rehabilitation for their kind and loving care for Edna.
