"Doc" Chasteen

Asheville - Harold Lee "Doc" Chasteen, 60, of Maple Springs Road, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 from a long illness at Solace of CarePartners, with his family by his side.

He was born December 24, 1951, in Jackson Co. Doc could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He worked as a plumber with his cousin and best friend, Larry Davis, of Asheville. Doc always had a kind word to say, and a great attitude. He loved to fish whenever he could. Doc always was a NASCAR fan. He is survived by his siblings, Jurdy Chandler of Asheville, Betty Early of Swannanoa, Bobby Chasteen of Arden, Gary Chasteen of Arden, Joe Allen Chasteen of Candler, Shirley Lumston of Asheville, Johnny Chasteen of Leicester as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Solace of CarePartners.

Doc was a kind man I dont think that I ever even heard him say a curse word and he was always a gentelman to the ladys.We'll miss you so much. People like Doc are very rare these days..

I have a lot of good memories growing up next door to my cousin Doc on Maple Springs Road. I will miss seeing him at the Barker's Creek Decoration Day in August. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
