Laughter
Candler - Jessica Lynn Laughter, 30, of Candler, died Monday, November 5, 2012, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of Carlton Denning and Robin Sutton Denning.
Jessica was a graduate of Enka High School in 2000, with her sister Alesha. She received her Associates Degree in Social Service from A-B Tech in 2006. She also attended cosmetology school. She loved sports, and played softball with Venable.
Despite her many hospitalizations and surgeries, Jessica had an indomitable spirit. She was resilient and always found ways to help herself and her family.
In addition to her parents, Jessica is survived by her daughter, Savannah Faith Laughter; sister Alesha Laughter; brother Jason Denning; nieces and nephews Lilly Laughter, Lucy Laughter, and Jacob Denning; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friend and partner Jessica West; Godmother Angela Gurka; plus a host of close friends, because she never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Starnes Cove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
