WEAVERVILLE - Ruby Finley Angel, 85, known as "Mamaw Ruby" to her family was called home on Nov. 22nd as a result of a fall which she was unable to recover. Until her death she worked as a Senior Companion for Hospice.
She was the last surviving child of John Alexander Finley and Amanda Cannon. She was a resident of Weaverville and long time member of the Church of God. The last being Barnardsville Church of God.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Angel; her only child, Helen Bradley; son-in-law, Troy Thomas Bradley Sr.; grandchild, Annette Owenbey. As well as her three brothers, Theodore, Calvin and Herbert Finley. She is survived by her loyal feline companion, "Sam the Cat"; three grandchildren, Teresa Medd and husband, Steve, Doris Kitchen, and Troy Bradley Jr. She has many great-grandchildren as well as great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Don, Judy, Joyce and Carolyn.
Visitation and Services will be Friday, Nov. 30th and will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Barnardsville Church of God, officiated by Pastor Daniel Reid. The church is located at 1436 Barnardsville Hwy. There will be Graveside Services held at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Weaverville following the church service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Barnardsville Church of God, in Ruby's name. We would like to thank Asheville Mortuary Services for assisting the family with Ruby's remains.
