Greenville, SC - Argyro Doumbakis Cledaras passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Greenville, SC on December 4, 2012 at the age of 81. A native of Athens, Greece Argyro "Sylvia" was born to Dimitrios and Ioanna Doumbakis. She moved to the United States in 1962 where she raised her family in Asheville, NC.

Argyro is predeceased by her husband, Christopher Matthew Cledaras, her sister, Chrisoula Tzakou and her Granddaughter, Katerina Ioanna Cledaras.

Argyro is survived by her long time friend and companion Joe Henry Crump; her brother, Efthimios Doumbakis, loving children Isabelle Cledaras Fleshman and her husband Jeffrey D. Fleshman; Matthew Christopher Cledaras and his wife Sylvia Reitmeier Cledaras; James Christopher Cledaras and his wife Alicia Bristol Cledaras as well as her treasured Grandchildren, Emilios Christopher Papanastasiou; Christiana Eleni Papanastasiou; Christopher Matthew Cledaras; Alexander Matthew Cledaras and John Finley Cledaras as well as cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States and Greece.

Argyro was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Asheville, NC where she was a member of the choir, the Philoptohos Society and Daughters of Penelope for over 40 years.

She will be remembered, respected and greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Argyro was known for her kind acts to others and her selfless devotion and service to her church and friends in need.

A viewing and trisagion service will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 227 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with the burial immediately following at Lewis Memorial Park. A Makaria luncheon will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church after the burial. Father Michael Diavatis will officiate at both services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, The or ARK Hospice of Greenville, SC.
