ASHEVILLE - Nannie E. Hallum, 93, of 26-A Klondyke Place, died Wed., March 27, 2013. Born in Morganton she was a resident of Asheville for 72 years.

Mrs. Hallum was a 1940 graduate of Stephens-Lee High School. She was a well known seamstress and a member of numerous clubs and organizations.

Surviving are her sons, Lee Otis Woods of New York, Clifford and James "Jimmy" Hallum and Gene Harris of Asheville; daughters, Lydia Hallum of Lowell, Ann Hallum of Charlotte and Cynthia Hallum of Asheville; brothers, James Kennedy of Black Mountain and Howard Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; sister, Elizabeth Wilson of Washington, DC; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Berry Temple United Methodist Church. Rev. Patricia A. Bacon will officiate, burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery.
