ASHEVILLE - Marjorie Geneva Davis, 80, was safely and quietly carried in the arms of her loving Lord to her heavenly home on April 20, 2013. Geneva ran the race of life and served her Lord faithfully as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Asheville, NC for 33 ½ years. She was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Asheville, a very active teacher and mentor; she always enjoyed discussing and learning more about God's word, and sharing with the youth and her peers at any opportunity. Being an avid reader, she appreciated and educated herself in unusual findings of earth's treasures, specially archeological items, such as rocks, gems and arrowheads, and delighted in displaying them to others. She loved her family and friends dearly. She also had a love and compassion for all animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, U.V. and Maybelle Dalton Davis of Bald Mountain, (Bat Cave) NC; brothers, Clarence, Reese, and Floyd; and sisters, Annie Mae Michael and Helen Nanney. She is survived by her sisters, Irene Huntley of Bald Mountain / Hendersonville and Martha Frantz of Masury, Ohio; brothers, Bill Davis of Bald Mountain and Gene (Katherine) Davis of Black Mountain; and a host of nieces and nephews; and a dear lifelong friend, Jean Morgan of Asheville, NC.

A celebration of Geneva's life will be held at Beverly Hills Baptist Church on April 27, 2013 at 2 PM with Reverend Dr. Billy King officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at other times will be at the home of Mike and Trish Steppe, 1080 North Ridge Road, Hendersonville, NC, where Geneva had spent several months under their care. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Beverly Hills Baptist Church Volunteer Missions, or Bald Mountain Baptist Church, Black Mountain, NC. Condolences may be made to the family at
