Black Mountain - Frances Virginia (Martin) Campfield, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 26, 2013 at The Mountain Ridge Wellness Center in Black Mountain, NC.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Clayton and Lois McFee Martin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouses, Harley Moyers, George Gosnell, Herbert Hicks, Lloyd Campfield; sons, James Moyers, Fred "Mo" Moyers; brothers, Albert Martin, Joseph Lee Martin; sisters, Carolyn Butler and Leatha Osborn.

Virginia retired from Beacon Manufacturing Company after many years of service. She did volunteer work at The Cove and Highland Farms Retirement Community, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swannanoa where she served as a Sunday school teacher for twenty-five years. She also served as an officer in the WMU group and VIP senior group. After a move late in life to Marion, NC, she became a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church where she participated in the WMU and Young at Heart Senior Group. Virginia loved both her church family and biological family very much. She especially enjoyed her yearly vacation with her sisters.

Surviving is her sister, Jean M. Rhew of Asheville; daughter-in-law, Gail Moyers of Marion; special friends, Jean Patton, Ruth Sanders, and Georgia Price; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, April 30, at Swannanoa First Baptist Church with receiving of friends at 1:00PM. A graveside service will be held immediately after at Mountain View Memorial Park. Flowers or donations to the J.M. Mission Fund in care of Cross Memorial Baptist Church, 15 Cross Memorial Baptist Church Loop, Marion, NC 28752 are welcome.

The family would like to acknowledge Mountain Ridge Wellness Center for the compassionate and excellent care that they had provided for Mrs. Campfield for the last seven and a half years.
