Janet Kinder Boatwright

Black Mountain - Janet Kinder Boatwright, 74, died peacefully April 29, 2013 after a valiant battle with leukemia at Mission/St. Joseph hospital in Asheville, NC.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Thomas Loyd and Audrea Kinder and an infant brother. She is survived by her brother Tom (Jane) of Fenton, MO. She is also survived by her loving husband, Sam, of 52 years. They were married in Fredericktown, MO. She is also survived by her children: Cindy, Tim (Anne and children Matthew, Nicholas, Wesley), and Jonathon (daughter Rachel).

Jan was a wonderful, loving wife and mother and a friend to everyone she met. The beauty of her integrity and grace was so evident in her life that others felt blesses by knowing her, even in her last days at the hospital. She ministered to many through the years in various church locations where they lived: Anaheim, CA; Gastonia, NC; Florence, SC; and Black Mountain, NC. Her forthright display of love and caring at King of Glory Christian Church was profound in people's lives. She left a legacy of changed lives while she spoke the truth in love at the church's Healing Rooms and at her visits to the women's prison. Jan will be missed by many.

Visitation will be Thursday May 2, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Wilson Family Funeral Service in Black Mountain. A private funeral ceremony will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to King of Glory Christian Church Po Box 365 Swannanoa, NC 28778, or to one's favorite charity.
