Nora Chapman Binkley

Swannanoa - Nora Chapman Binkley, 95, of Swannanoa, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013.

Mrs. Binkley was born March 2, 1918 in McDowell County to the late Luther and Ethel Chapman.

Nora was an avid gardener and seamstress. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Binkley; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Freddy Wilkerson; son, Carl W. McGee, Jr.; sister, Edna Biggerstaff; brothers, Cliff, Holbert, Willis and Van Harold Chapman.

Nora is survived by her daughter, Teresa Roberts of Mooresville; sons, Jim McGee (Reva) of New Mexico, Bill McGee (Eloise) of Swannanoa, and Gary Roberts (Kathy) of Weaverville; daughter-in-law, Sharon McGee; sister, Mildred Banks of Asheville; brother, Ellis Chapman of Swannanoa; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Berea Baptist Church with the Reverends Allen Rash and Charles Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Sky View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time at the church.

Flowers are accepted and appreciated.
