Distance got between us and time passed so quickly. I can't believe so many years have gone by since last time we talked. I thought about you often and wondered how you were, always telling myself that one day I would get in touch with you. I can't believe I'll never be able to do that now. Regardless of the distance and time, I always considered you one of my best friends. You and your family, to this day, are some of the greatest people I have ever known and I can't imagine their pain. When I found out you were a cop my first thought was 'of course he is'. The love you had for the people around you, the respect for your community and your service driven heart made it easy for me to see you as a respected officer and a hero. Bob, your friendship, your laughter, all our adventures (and some mis-adventures:) ), your kindness and support, your smile...none of it was ever forgotten, nor will it ever be. My heart is with your family. I'll miss you, old friend. I'd say 'rest in peace' but I'm quite sure you're already signing up for the Lord's Guardian Angel detail, aren't you? With love, respect and fond memories, I'll say 'until we meet again'.
