Barbara Kinard Revis

Arden - Barbara Kinard Revis, 79, of Arden, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Gussie Corpening Kinard. Barbara was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, and a longtime member of West Asheville Baptist Church and choir.

Mrs. Revis is survived by her daughters, Diane Godwin and husband Mike, and Jackquelyn Deweese and husband Bruce; son Phillip Revis and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Wesley, Paige, Timmy and Amy; great-grandchildren, Karli, Arabella, Raegan and Wyatt; and sister Mary Elizabeth Matthews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Revis will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at West Asheville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the choir fund of West Asheville Baptist, 926 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
